30 Day Water Challenge

October 1, 2008

One thing that I will be doing often is putting myself through 30-day challenges, and recording my results along the way. Not only for my own accountability, but I want you to see the results. 30 days because it’s a nice round number, and by then, you’ve developed a habit.

I never drink enough water. Honestly, it’s a miracle I’m still alive 😛 Especially since I do so much mental work with my memory projects, I’m going to be improving this. What I plan on doing is setting an alarm for every 60 minutes, and making sure I at least drink some water every time the alarm goes off. I have a 40-ounce mug, so I’ll be trying to drain that twice a day.

Day 1:

I know that it will take a few days for my body to get used to having more water available, but I wasn’t really expecting this. I finished my first 40 ounces by 4 PM today, and I constantly felt ‘full of water’. I ended up with about 70 ounces today, which is within my goal range of 70-80 when I’m not really active.

Studies in Self Improvement

September 27, 2008

Hello! My name is Zachary. About two years ago I really started becoming interested in the idea of self improvement. Since then, I have researched different topics, looking for tools I can use in my life to help not only myself, but others as well.

As of right now, two of these tools have become very important to me, and I have separate blogs for my experiences with each:

The first blog is about My Experiences With Phenomenal Memory.  GMS, a modern memory-development system, is taught by the School of Phenomenal Memory. I took their online course in August, 2007, and it’s been one of those defining crossroads in my life. You can see the projects I’m working on, and the amount of material I’m able to memorize in short periods of time. You can also read about examples of how my daily life is less stressful and more fulfilling because of my improved memory. Right now, I am memorizing a study guide for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test.

The second blog is about My Experiences With NLP. NLP(Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a study of self-excellence. A collaboration of tools available to improve your life and your interactions with others.

Lastly is this blog, my self-improvement experiment. Here I’ll be posting about new things that I encounter and test. Anything good that I come across, I’ll let you know.

Please, feel free to get involved in any of my blogs. I am more than happy to discuss self improvement with you in any format 🙂

Enjoy!
